Serene Sunset Study Empty Serene Sunset Study

In the midst of the spa and the lounge on the first floor rests a rather large keep flooded to the brim with notes, scrolls, and a grand sea of books. Journals, documentaries, incantationals, virtually everything. Lined with two symmetrical rows of lit desks. The studys atmosphere was an arcanely quiet, within the east wing of the second floor.

Stepping into the study he took a moment to take in the sights and smells. Once closed off from the other side of the large multi-purpose building the aroma of food faded and was quickly overwhelmed by the perfume of old books and new. Leaning up against the wall he took a deep breathe and let the calm wash over him. Stepping around the way into a small foyer, he hung up his coat and hat and walked over to the small closet within. Rotating the small stand he retrieved his vest and checked to make sure that all of his tools were inside. Satisfied he stepped back out into the main lobby of the study and ascended the stairs to his favorite desk. A small two-seater that overlooked the majority of the study allowed him to work and satisfy his curiosity if people entered.

Taking a pen out of his pocket he shifted his notebook to the side and opened his ledger. He began detailing all that he had heard with his notes and began to work out a report on his thoughts of the man who had lifted so many hearts. He had almost lost himself in their exultant cries once he finished, and would have loved to have stayed, unfortunately he felt his work chronicling what others didn't to be of some importance. Keeping direct tabs on history was very important, and Nicholas felt them to be very important in the turns of the centuries, but opinions were important too. Nicholas understood that he wasn't the most unbiased person in the world, but that he could give into subjectivity.

About halfway through his work, that is to say about two pages in, Nicholas stopped and sat back, taking a deep breath. Looking around he came to a decision and decided to act on it, rather than put it off again. He had a good line of thought already put to the pad and decided that he could use a small bit of refreshment, so he took his notes and ledger and headed back downstairs, placing them in his locker within the confines of the studies record room. Striding out of the study and out across the way to the tavern, he made his way to a spot where he could make a good order of a dark tea and a small sandwich. Nodding to the man when he brought him the small snack he paid him and quickly made his way back to the study, where he retrieved his notes and went back to work, desiring to finish before sunset.

Closing his ledger and notebook, Nicholas took a moment to go to the window and look outside. Slipping off his glasses he narrowed his eyes and focused on the sunset as it cascaded a myriad of colors across the sky. Leaning up against the windowsill he basked in the wonder of the ambiance. As the sky darkened to a deep twilight, he stepped away and began to clean up his mess and to straighten up around the study behind the other patrons who had since retired for the night. Going around, making sure those who had made a day of the world of literature and study were finding things to their liking, Nicholas went back into the small room in the storage room area and removed his vest and untucked his shirt. Sitting down in the small couch back there he kicked back to relax for a few moments.
